How is HealthyU different from the rest?
With so many "diet programs" available, it's difficult to decide which one is right for you.
Let's start with this...HealthyU is NOT a diet program - it is a Weight Management and Wellness program. Although it might seem like it's just different wording, the two types of programs are quite different. It's not just about the numbers on the scale. It's about overall health and wellness. At HealthyU we are here specifically for YOU. There is no generic plan, meals to buy, or group meetings. You deserve more than that. You are a unique individual and we will work with your specific needs to develop YOUR plan.
- OPTION 1: COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
- INITIAL VISIT: $249
- FOLLOW-UP VISITS: $45 (plus any additional lab work if needed)
Your evaluation begins with a licensed medical provider reviewing and discussing your medical history, weight history, and dietary/eating patterns. The medical provider will then perform a focused physical exam looking for signs of underlying metabolic disorders or conditions that may be contributing to your weight and general wellness. The next step is to test your Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR), a thorough metabolic and endocrine blood panel (to include at minimum chemistry panel, cbc, lipids, vitamins D and B-12, and thyroid) as well as weight, body fat, and body measurements. All of these tests help in identifying your needs and developing your plan.
Once you've been evaluated, we work with you to develop a plan unique to you. Your plan will include one month of personalized meal planning (based on your test results), vitamin/supplement guidance, prescription appetite suppressants* (if indicated and medically appropriate), prescriptions to balance poorly functioning thyroid (if indicated and medically appropriate) vitamin B-12 supplementation, and many other forms of personal support such as e-mails, phone calls, text messages, fitness training referrals, etc.
Once again...this is not a "diet program". Our program is designed 1) Determine if there are any underlying conditions that are contributing to your weight and general wellness and work to correct them 2) To teach you how to eat and live well for the long term. This is the type of program that Primary Care providers would love to offer but they don't have the time or the resources to make it happen.
Could it be your thyroid?
Have you ever thought you had a thyroid problem only to be told that your thyroid tests were normal and it must be something else? And then, have you been diagnosed with depression, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, or perhaps you've just been told to eat less and exercise more because your thyroid is "fine"?
As it turns out, the two standard screening tests (TSH and Free T4) that most physicians do are inadequate to diagnose hypothyroid or sub-clinical hypothyroid. Additionally, once an individual is diagnosed, they are usually treated with a medication that does not fully treat the underlying problem. The following is a list of symptoms that have been reported by individuals with hypothyroidism. Some of these symptoms are more common than others, but any of them may be related to a poorly functioning thyroid.

If specialty referrals are needed then we will certainly be happy to refer to the appropriate specialist.
Being healthy doesn't have to be hard...we are here to help.
- OPTION 2: BASIC PLAN
- INITIAL VISIT: $85
- FOLLOW-UP VISITS: $45 (plus any additional lab work if needed)
Although it is not preferred, we realize that some individuals merely want a little kick-start to help getheir weight loss efforts off the ground. We prefer to do a comprehensive initial evaluation to increase your chances of success. However, we understand that for financial, or numerous other reasons, you may want to just have a basic evaluation, some assistance with healthy choices, and perhaps a prescription appetite suppressant to get your efforts started. We do offer that service as well.
Your evaluation begins with a licensed medical provider reviewing and discussing your medical history and dietary/eating patterns. The medical provider will then perform a focused physical exam including vital signs, weight, and body fat. Depending on your medical history and other conditions, we may need a basic blood panel to insure there are no contraindications to taking a prescription appetite suppressant.
Once you've been evaluated and medically cleared, we can prescribe an appetite suppresant, administer a B-12 injection and give general advice on healthy eating and exercise. The Basic Plan is intended for that "kick-start" and is not a long-term program.
